Australian fashion brand MARCS has launched 5 limited edition band T-shirts in support of the Australian Record Industry. With perfect timing for ARIA week, the brand has teamed with official fashion partner David Jones to bring us some awesome designs aimed at celebrating Australian music with the following ARIA nominees:
Birds of Tokyo
Emma Louise
Bliss N Eso
The Presets
The Rubens
The initiative invites Australian music fans to show their support for our music scene by wearing a band T-shirt during ARIA week and sharing photos of them wearing it online, using the official hashtag #UnitedByMusic
Dan Rosen - CEO of ARIA – stated “This collaboration with MARCS is extremely exciting for ARIA and a wonderful showcase of everything that is great about Australian music, with t-shirts from local artists across a range of genres – from rock, dance, and hip-hop, right through to one of the country’s finest singer-songwriters.”
Each of the above ARIA nominees chose lyrics from one of their own songs which they felt would most rally fans to show support for home grown talent. 5 International visual artists were then enlisted to bring these lyrics to life with their respective visual styles.
No more than 1000 of each design will be available for purchase, placing the t-shirts as strictly limited edition.
The campaign has already seen Emma Louise perform live in the David Jones store on Sydney’s Elizabeth Street, and also a MARCS-sponsored Nova Red Room session with Bliss N Eso.
The limited edition ARIA band T’s are available from purchase in MARCS stores and marcs.com.au, as well as in select David Jones stores.
